After a disappointing month of December the Flyers will have an opportunity to turn thing around an start winning some hockey games tomorrow. They play the Toronto Maple Leafs at home and need to jump right on it from the start of the game. This team has been palying some really bad hockey lately especially late in periods. The defense needs to play a whole better if the Flyers are going to get this thing going again. the goalies need to come up with some better games too. Not that they have played badly, just they need to totally balnk the other team. We need to get our confidence back and now is the time. Jersey is starting to pull away form the pack and we can’t have that.

The Flyers let a solid performance by Marty Biron go to waste last night in Buffalo. They let a 2-1 lead slip away and gave up a late goal to take their 5th straight defeat. The teams play again tonight in Philadelphia in the 2nd half of a home and home. Biron was spectacular in goal making some remarkable saves that kept the Flyers in the game. Marty Miller didn’t have to be quite as sharp but still made a few beautiful saves for the Sabres.

The Flyers made another trip to New Jersey yesterday with the same result as in the old building. They just can not beat the Devils on the road. The game was pretty well played and they put a lot of pressure on Marty Brodeur but just can’t seem to pull it off. We have Phoenix at home tomorrow night which is a rare visit. The Coyotes are a strong young team that will really test the Flyers. We need to come out of this funk we’re in real soon or we’ll be looking up from the bottom just like last year. The talent is there they just need to put it together.

The Eagles gave their fans an early Christmas present yesterday by beating the Cowboys in Dallas 10-6. The Jimmy Johnson defense kept the Cowboys out of the endzone all day. What a perfect defensive scheme. You could not have played a better game. You could see the frustration on the entire offensiove team by the 3rd quarter. Dallas has not been kept out of the endzone like this all year. The Eagles mustered just enough offense and the best play of the day was at the end. Brian Westbrook could have scored a touchdown but fell at the 1 yeard line in order to keep trhe clock running. What a team player he is. Just an awesome win for the Birds in a season filled with disappointment.

Another winter is upon us and keeping warm has become a top priority. Our house is very drafty and the gas heater does not do the job by itself. The 76ers winning streak ended at four last night as the Kings had a very strong 2nd half to take the win. The Sixers led by as many as 9 points in the 1st half but turnovers and loose defense allowed the Kings to tie the game by half time. Sacramento took over in the 3rd period and led by as many as 16 points. They held on from there to gain their 1st road victory of the year.

I am a person who has had a weight problem for my entire life. The usual diets and medications have not worked and I continue to overeat.
