On Top At Last
October 1st, 2007It has been 14 years since the Phillies last appeared in an October game. The streak finally came to an end yesterday after they defeated the Nationals and the Mets completed their freefall by losing to the Marlins. A couple of weeks ago I picked the Phils to win the wildcard spot in the playoffs. I never dreamed they would end up winning the divison. How sweet it is to see a New York team choke in the clutch. We are so used to being on the other end of this situation that a lot of the fans in the Phildadelphia area are pinching themselves to see if this is real.
The last week of the season in the National league was the best baseball I’ve seen in all of my years. The season literally went down to the last day with two spots being decided by four teams. You can’t ask for anymore excitement than what we have seen over the last week. Get ready for the playoffs. There will be some great games played and may the best team win it all…..GO PHILLIES
