The Flyers rebounded after their loss in New Jersey on Friday with a good effort in Toronto. They scored two early goals and after allowing the Leafs to tie it at 2-2 in the 3rd period got a late power play goal from Mike Richards for the win. Antero Nittymaki made a team record 54 saves in goal. He was incredible as the Leafs just kept the rubber flying in his direction. I have to say that the referee’s in last nights game should be reviewed for the lack of call made against the Leafs. There was a least 5 or 6 blatant non-calls by the referees. One that should be reviewed by the league for a hit on Braydon Coburn. He knocked face first into the boards, came up bleeding and no was call was made. If that had been a Flyer there would have been a match penalty and a suspension.

The Flyers received the usual treatment in New Jersey last night. Martin Brodeur was perfect in goal for the Devils who won for the 3rd time in 4 tries against the Flyers this year. I have been watching Brodeur for many years and no matter how he is playing against the rest of the league he just dominates the Flyers. The history says if they don’t get to him early the game might as well be over when the Devils score their 1 st goal. That is what happened again last night as the Flyers could not beat the Jersey trap in the middle of the ice and if they were lucky enough to get through Brodeur was there to stop any shot from getting to the net. You would think that the Flyers would restructure their game when playing the Devils but no matter what game plan they come up with the Devils win anyway.
