What a Difference
October 12th, 2007The new hockey season has begun and I can’t believe the difference in the Philadelphia Flyers. I am a die hard fan who endured the worst season in our history last year. Management made a few excellent moves at the end of last year and in the off season. The biggest of course is Danny Briere. I have watched him closely in the fist few games and the moves he can use are second to none. He is worth every penny the fans will pay for him. He has instantly upgraded the game of his line mates Gagne & Knuble. This line will be one of the tops in the league if they stay healthy. The addition of Hartnell, Upshall and Lupul has already paid dividends. Upshall is out right now but I think he is a great talent that will develop in Philadelphia. The defense has been greatly improved with the stability of a Jason Smith and Kimmo Timonen. I look for a better season from Hatcher this year. He is an old stlye player who is trying his best to revamp his game. You have to give him a thumbs up for the effort alone.
The games this year will be a lot more competitive and teams are not going to want to visit the Wachovia Center like they did last year. Hopefully Peter Forsberg will get healthy enough to sign later this season. He would be a nice add on to a team I believe is going to impress a lot of people. Paul Holmgren deserves a lot of credit for the moves he has made so far. The fans in Philadelphia deserve a good hockey team and I think we’re on the right track. GO FLYERS!!!!!
