The Great Fall

September 29th, 2007

There are just two games left in the regular season and the Mets lead has gone by the wayside. The Phillies now lead them by one game. The Phillies are a team that just will not quit. They were trailing the Mets by seven games with seventeen remaining. They have scratched and clawed their way all the way to the top. We’ll know in a matter of hours if Jimmy Rollins’  statement at the beginning of the season will come to fruition. The Phillies at least for the next twenty four hours or so are the team to beat in the National League East.

Home Stretch

September 27th, 2007

There is some great baseball being played at this time of the year. The playoff race in the National League is going to go down to the final weekend. The Phillies are putting the heat on the Mets for first place in the East. They’re just one game in back as of tonight. They are also just one game behind the Padres for the wild card and tied with the Rockies. I don’t remember this much hope for a Phillies team in a long time. I don’t particuarly care for Charlie Manuel’s style of managing but with the pitching he has it’s a miracle they are this close. This club just will not quit. He should be considered for manager of the year. I don’t know how this will play out but it sure has been exciting to be a fan this year.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

September 24th, 2007

What did the Iranian dictator think would happen when he came to the United States. The most he should have hoped for was a few sympathizers that would support his warped views. Protestors were there to speak for the supressed people of the world who have to live under leaders like Ahmadinejad. I know they also expressed their opinions on his views on the Holocaust. How in the world could anyone ever state that the Holocaust never happened. The president of Columbia University Lee Bollinger warned the little dictator that the questions he would ask would be difficult to answer. It took guts for Ahmadinejad to show up today. The arrogance of people such as him should not go unnoticed by anyone. He has a plan just like Bin Laden that his way of life is how the rest of the world should live. They have no respect for people that do not think like do and would prefer that we all be killed off so that they can have it their way. ASSHOLE!!!!!

Home Stretch

September 21st, 2007

The last week of the baseball regular season is upon us. The Phillies are in the thick of things despite their lack of pitching. The best chance of reaching the playoffs will be to catch the Mets because the way the Padres are playing it will be the only way to make it. I do hope the Phillies management is taking notes. The Padres do not have much of an offense but good pitching will always beat good hitting. I think the Phillies are a starter and a couple of middle relievers away for being an elite team. Their offense will take care of itself if they can get some decent starting pitching and a middle reliever or two that can stop the bleeding before they get to the late guys. The Metes have proved that they are beatable. The Phillies are making a great stretch run and I appreciate the effort the team puts out. Their 47 come from behind wins pretty much speaks for itself. GO PHILLIES!!

More trouble for O.J.

September 20th, 2007

It was only a matter of time before O.J. Simpson made the ultimate mistake. He got off for killing his wife and her boyfriend. H e really thinks he is above the law and can get away with anything he does. The law enforcement has waited a long time to right the wrong done years ago. Finally O.J. has put himself in a postion that will have him in jail for quite a long time. The evidence against him this time looks to be pretty substantial. The tape of the actual robbery will surely put them all away. He does not have Johnny Cochran this time around. By the time the system is done with this case he may not see the light of day again. They are going to be very careful and process all the charges and when they are done they will surely give him some extra time for what he got away with years ago. Can you say pick up that bar of soap O.J.??

My Time of Year

September 19th, 2007

The long hot summer is over and it’s time to get back to business. The NHL preseason has begun and it won’t be long until the race for the Stanley Cup will begin. As an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan I took on the chin last season. It was very painful to watch my team suffer its worst season ever. Flyers fans are used to watching their team make a good run at the Cup. Management made a few good moves during the off season which should make us solid contenders if everyone stays healthy. The best part about hockey is the off season signings and trades. Players move around so nuch that there will not be one team on opening day that has anywhere near the roster it had last year. I can’t wait for the season to begin. GO FLYERS!!!!!

Burn Notice

September 18th, 2007

I just love to watch this new show call Burn Notice. Jeffery Donovan is the perfect actor to be cast as Michael Weston. He has the pefect attitude be a government spy. I’m sure a lot of what goes on in the show does happen in reality. The extra stuff they throw in gives the show a sense of humor. I’m thinking it will last at least a couple of seasons. They could have kept him looking for who burned him a little longer. I think when its all said and done we will find Fiona is the behind the burn. She really wants to keep him for herself and this is the only way she can figure out to get it done. His mom is in on it too.

Halloween Season

September 15th, 2007

I just heard on the radio that Halloween has been promoted to a season. You gotta be kidding me. There was a time when kids were dressed in costume and were given some candy and sent on their merry way. In todays world you can can see Halloween candy and costumes appearing at the end of August. The really sad part about this is the consumers don’t seem to mind. I personally can’t stand the commercialism. The stores are never going to be able to persuade me to buy into their time frame of what they consider a holiday or season to be. I feel sorry for those that are that easily persuaded.

Got Oil ?

September 13th, 2007

The oil market is at it again. Just when the price was of a gallon of gas( $2.67 a gallon) was dropping the oil industry decides to create their own catastrophes to rationalize their greed. The huuricane season has been relatively quiet in the U.S. Gulf region. The refineries have been open and producing. Why then has the price just topped $80.00 a barrel. The answer would be the greed factor. The oil industry is the tops when it comes to greed. The U.S. citizens should just stop driving for a couple of days. The effect on the oil companies would  shock you. I know it would be an inconveience to not drive for a couple of days but I’d do it just to drive the price down. If we don’t buy it the demand is less which will lower  the cost. Think about it!!!!

9-11 Remembered

September 12th, 2007

I still remember as if it was yesterday. I was getting dressed for work and listeneing to Good Morning America. The news had just been announced that one of the Twin Towers was on fire and it appeared that a plane had flown into one of the top floors. The rest as they say is history. The pain and agony inflicted on that day by a group of individuals that has not regard for human life will go down as one of the worst days in American history. What those radical assholes didn’t realize is the strength and resiliency of American. We may have our differenences internally but when you strike at the United States of America you are waking a sleeping giant that will hunt you down and destroy you. The day will come when Osama bin Laden will meet up with justice. That may or may not happen before he dies. I truly believe that his almighty Allah does not condone the mass murders that the radical Muslims have been committing. They will all pay. God bless those who lost their lives on 9-11-01 and those who survived. We as Americans will never forget the price you paid for our freedom.
